28th of May- 11th of June
I arrived on the 28th of May, so it has officially been 3 weeks in Rome!
It took a few days to overcome the jet lag and adjust to the sun not setting until 9 – 9:30pm but I am loving it so far.
I am here for 3 months as an au pair for a lovely Italian family who have a 3 year old girl named Matilde.
I work 1:30pm – 7pm Monday – Friday and am free to explore Rome anytime i’m not working.
A typical day is Matilde will get home from school and we will have lunch till around 2:30pm. We then play in her room until 4 when she will then have a snack and watch her favourite show Bluey. We go to the park after that till 5:30ish before we come home for dinner, shower and bed.
In the mornings or over the weekends this is what I have visited so far.
There are so many beautiful churches with the most breath-taking designs.
The Trevi Fountain, I haven’t been too close yet as it doesn’t seem to matter if you go at 11pm or 5 am there are always people around.
The view from the kid’s school at the top of the Spanish Stairs.
Over the weekend I went to see the Colosseum, it was amazing to see one of the 7 wonders of the world.
I also quickly saw the Vatican City Saturday afternoon, but I am sure I will return multiple times as it is a beautiful place.
I cannot get enough of these amazing views and am very grateful to get to spend such a long period of time in this amazing city.
